2012-13 Nu Skin Jazz Dancer Auditions

July 6th, 2012 | by Spencer Hall

Saturday morning (July 7) is your chance to dance like no one is watching in front of 19,911 fans as a Nu Skin Jazz Dancer. Every single one of you who stood out in the cold to audition for So You Think You Can Dance better be at the Jazz practice facility tomorrow all ready to dance for your lives. I’m going to be incredibly disappointed if there aren’t at least ten world-class Latin ballroom performers from Utah County. Or somebody who mimics this routine.

Registration begins at 8AM at the Zions Bank Basketball Center (1414 South 500 West in SLC) and tryouts begin at 9AM. I think you can pre-register at utahjazz.com/dancers.

Here’s the rest of the information:

Additional Details: All applicants must be high school graduates and at least 18 years of age by July 7. They must be energetic, motivated and committed, and also be in top physical condition.

An open call for auditions will be held on Saturday, July 7, and a judging panel will make an initial set of cuts. Semifinalists will then be invited to rehearse choreography with dance team director Jan Whittaker on Monday-Wednesday, July 9-11 at Zions Bank Basketball Center. The group of semifinalists will then be pared to a list of finalists who will be invited to participate in a final interview and audition session with a judging panel on Saturday, July 14. Those chosen to the 2012-13 Nu Skin Jazz Dance Team will be posted on utahjazz.com in the evening of July 14.
