After one of the best games in Utah Jazz history, what else could we do but break it down? Ben Dowsett and I go through the highlights of last night’s 102-100 victory over LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, including the Hayward chase down block, isolation defense on LeBron, and the game winning shot. We also go pretty in detail about the refereeing performance last night, which displayed several different aspects which Ben and I weren’t particularly fond of, especially in the game’s final 10 seconds.
To get some perspective on the game, we invited Kurt Kragthorpe of the Salt Lake Tribune. Kurt’s first year covering the Jazz was Karl Malone’s rookie season, and so we take the opportunity to ask him where this ranked amongst the top Jazz games he’s witnessed. We also talk about the process of going from good to great, and whether or not the Jazz have any players, or as a team as a whole, can make that leap.
Finally, we revisit the Crazy Trade Idea of the Week, and this time take a suggestion from friend of the show Clark Schmutz. We break down that trade, look forward to the schedule to come, and much more on this week’s Salt City Hoops Show on ESPN700!
