It’s been an exciting year for Salt City Hoops. 364 days ago, Spencer Hall announced he had been hired as the News Director at KSL.com, and chose myself as successor to the Salt City Hoops Managing Editor position.

In the last year, we’ve made a lot of changes to the site. Spencer and I immediately hired a staff of writers to provide daily content, and they’ve done a fantastic job.1 We’ve posted over 400 articles in the last year on all sorts of topics in Jazzland. We’ve also expanded our coverage: we sent a writer to interview players and coaches at every home game last season, and are sending SCH writers to cover other big Jazz events. 2 In the winter, we released a new site design, hopefully making our site better looking and easier to use.3 We also made T-Shirts.

Last Friday, I went on the Bill and Hans Show to announce a new partnership with ESPN700, the ESPN Radio affiliate in Salt Lake City.  The gist: ESPN700 will be highlighting Salt City Hoops with a new radio show, a new podcast, and featuring Salt City Hoops writers on other ESPN700 shows. You’ll be able to find our content on both Salt City Hoops and ESPN700’s website, and we’ll be able to use their studios for recording, meaning much better audio (and soon video!) quality. More info on this (including show times) will be coming, but we’re very excited.

Tomorrow begins Year 2 of Salt City Hoops 2.0, and in a continuing effort to make SCH the best Jazz site on the Internet, I’m looking  to you, our readership, for feedback.

  • What can we do to make Salt City Hoops better?
  • What do you like on Salt City Hoops that we should do more of?
  • What kind of content would you like to see from the site? What topics should we cover?
  • How can we improve the site design?
  • What would you like to hear in our new radio show and podcasts? What would make you tune in?
  • What do you just really wish SCH had, but lacks?

Please, please, comment below and let me know what you think. If you’d like to keep your feedback private, please email me at saltcityhoops@gmail.com. With your help, we can make Year 2 of Salt City Hoops 2.0 the best it can be.
