Anyone know what Neto’s status is?

It would be silly to not take him if he slid to #5. We have pretty equal needs at all starting positions, and we need a backup point guard. He would be a nice fit because he could back up Burke and also play with Burke at the 2.

You could say the same things about Smart, except that Chad Ford says the Jazz are not high on him and I doubt that we would take him with our emphasis on character.

I think the Jazz will get their top-notch scorer and star at number 5, where Aaron Gordon can be the next Paul George.

I really believe that Trey Burke has a better skill set than Marcus Smart and will have been the better player 15 years from now when we look back. Smart has the size, but that is all. I think we can all remember that picking Williams over Paul, presumably because of his size, was a mistake. Burke has the brains, the motivation, the scoring ability, and the handle to be awesome, just like Paul. Don’t be too harsh on a guy that is a rookie playing for a lame-duck coach on team that is tanking. Williams became an all-star and a premiere PG in the league, but wasn’t any better than Burke by the end of his rookie season. Smart’s antics remind me of Cousins. I would never want a guy like that on my team. No thanks. I’m on board for Vonleh, Randle, or Gordon, as well as for trading the pick down to get a presumably less-talented, albeit good, player if we can bring in the right veteran to fit in with the roster and help anchor the young guys.

I have great faith in Burke and he didn’t play too bad this past year, so i don’t think it’d help the team or Burke to get a guy like Smart or Exum. If they can’t trade up to get Wiggins or Parker, then i say they go for Aaron Gordon at #5. Dude could defend both the 3 and 4, and his shot can definitely be fixed. (Blake Griffin had the same knock on him when he was first in the league and he’s gotten better since)
