Ben Dowsett returns to the Salt City Hoops Podcast after his Canadian excursion, allowing us to talk about the last two weeks of Jazz news. In that time, the Jazz have signed Trevor Booker and traded for Carrick Felix, we talk about what both of those players will add to the roster. How big of a difference will they really make? We also briefly discuss the LeBron signing, as LeBron’s biggest fan Ben shares his first reaction on the deal since coming back. Finally, we have yet another Crazy Trade Idea of the Week. Could Patrick Beverly come to Utah? If our Crazy Trade Idea came true!1 All that and more on this week’s edition of the Salt City Hoops Podcast.

I think Trevor Booker is here to mentor Favors, Gobert, and Kanter, and his toughness will rub off on the rest of the team. We also needed to fill our salary cap, that’s why he’s expen$ive.

I predict that the Jazz start making win-now moves in summer of 2017. That draft, they have Golden State’s 1st and 2nd round picks, and all of their own. If Trey Burke, Alec Burks, or Enes Kanter doesn’t fit in our system, and wants a larger role, than they can be in a package with those 2017 picks.
I think Dante Exum will break out in 2017-18, in Russell Westbrook caliber (22 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 7 APG).
By then, hopefully the playoffs won’t be formatted by conferences, to make it fair for the Jazz’s title run.

Good stuff, per usual. Your guys’ volume discrepancy is killing me, though ;)

    • Mewko says:

Andy’s microphone was too soft, so I turned up the volume to hear his voice, and then when Ben talked my speakers blasted my ear-drums!
I didn’t hear the details to the Patrick Beverely trade, I don’t know if I missed it or if you didn’t fit it in.

      • Andy Larsen says:

This is good to know. I’m in charge of levelling, but only during the show itself, so I can’t edit it after it’s done. I made my mic a little louder than Ben’s about 10 min into the podcast, but it sounds like it wasn’t enough. We also move into the new studios next week, so hopefully that should make a difference. Thanks for the feedback, guys!
