Utah Jazz Announce 2012-13 Season Broadcast Schedule

ROOT SPORTS to Broadcast all 82 Regular-Season Games

1280 The Zone to Air all 90 Pre- and Regular-Season Contests

SALT LAKE CITY (September 28, 2012) – The Utah Jazz announced today the 2012-13 broadcast schedule for Utah’s upcoming NBA season. ROOT SPORTS, which will televise Jazz games for the 24th consecutive season, will broadcast all 82 regular-season contests as well as four preseason games. In addition, 1280 The Zone (1280 AM/97.5 FM), will carry all 82 regular-season games and all eight preseason games.

ROOT SPORTS will distribute each game in high definition (HD). The four preseason contests will include: October 12 vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder, October 16 vs. the L.A. Lakers in Anaheim, Calif., October 17 at the L.A. Clippers and October 22 at the Portland Trail Blazers. For the third consecutive season, eight-year play-by-play announcer Craig Bolerjack will team up with former Jazzman and television analyst Matt Harpring for the majority of the ROOT SPORTS telecasts. Ron Boone will return to the Jazz for his 25th season with the franchise and continue to appear on telecasts for select games.

This season marks the Jazz’s first on 1280 The Zone (1280 AM), the exclusive radio home of the team. The Jazz will also simulcast games on 97.5 The Zone (97.5 FM). David Locke enters his fourth season with the Jazz as radio play-by-play announcer while Boone begins his third season alongside Locke as radio analyst. Spence Checketts will host the pre and postgame radio show. The 2012-13 season also marks the third straight year the Jazz will carry a Spanish radio broadcast. Nelson Moran and Dan Clayton will call the action on 1600 AM with Moran serving as the play-by-play voice and Clayton as the analyst.

All telecasts on ROOT SPORTS will feature a 30-minute pre- and postgame show, along with a halftime show, hosted by Alema Harrington and analysts Thurl Bailey, Ron Boone and Phil Johnson

ROOT SPORTS, 1280 The Zone and 97.5 The Zone (1280 AM/97.5 FM) begin their regular season broadcasts schedules with the Jazz’s home opener on October 31 when Utah takes on the Dallas Mavericks.
