Game Preview – Jazz at Mavericks, April 8, 2009

April 7th, 2009 | by Spencer Hall

The home team has won each match up in the series this season (Utah leads 2-1). Both teams are coming off big wins and long layoffs due to the NCAA final on Monday. Hopefully the Jazz can repeat their 30 point beat down from February 5th.

*FROM THE ELIAS SPORTS BUREAU: Jason Kidd had 20 assists against the Suns on Sunday to pass Magic Johnson for third place among the NBA’s all-time assist leaders. It was only the second time that Kidd notched as many as 20 assists in a game; he had 25 assists for the Mavericks in a double-overtime win over the Jazz on Feb. 8, 1996. Jackson had only one 20-assist game in his career (22 for Denver in Jan. 1997). In NBA history, 18 players have recorded more than two 20-assist games (John Stockton’s 34 games are the most), including three active players: Steve Nash (five), Deron Williams (four) and Chris Paul (three).
