Kyrie Irving, 12.5 EPM wins added – 3/$126M deal to stay in Dallas (PO 3rd)

• Guard, unrestricted, $38.9M last year
• Jazz fit? Irving is an 8-time All-Star and an NBA champion, but he’s also 31 and has, umm, a complicated personality. Probably not a realistic Jazz target.

James Harden, 11.6 wins added – opted in, exploring trades

• Guard, $35.6M player option
• Jazz fit? At nearly 34, the superstar guard is said to be weighing his options of staying in Philly, returning to Houston or finding a new home.

Fred VanVleet, 11.4 wins added – 3/$130M max deal to play in Houston

• Guard, declined $22.8M player option
• Jazz fit? FVV doesn’t necessarily provide the “positional size” we’ve heard so much about, but it’s easy to see why a lot of people are mentioning him: he is strong, smart, and can score the ball.

Brook Lopez, 9.9 wins added – 2/$48M deal with Milwaukee

• Big, unrestricted, $13.9M last year
• Jazz fit? Lopez is too good to sign on for a mere mentor/elder statesman role, and it appears as though Walker Kessler’s development is too high a priority for Utah to sign a starter ahead of him.

Josh Hart, 8.0 wins added – Opted in

• Wing, $13M player option
• Jazz fit? Hart is still just 28 and does all the things a team focused on the climb wants from a glue guy on the wing – but he’d cost, and it’s an awkward time in the process to splurge on non-stars.

D’Angelo Russell, 7.6 wins added – 2/$37M deal to stay in LA

• Guard, unrestricted, $31.4M last year
• Jazz fit? The Jazz evidently could have had DLo in a straight Conley swap last year, but instead preferred a larger salary maneuver that netted them a future pick from L.A.

Harrison Barnes, 7.6 wins added – Extended early with the Kings for 3/$54M

• Wing, unrestricted, $18.4M last year
• Jazz fit? I’ve heard murmurs that the Jazz made an offer on Barnes back in 2021-22, but now that they have John Collins on their roster there’s probably not a role here.

Draymond Green, 7.4 wins added – Staying with GSW at 4/$100M (PO)

• Wing/big, declined $27.6M player option
• Jazz fit? At 33, this 4-time champion is a win-now piece, and all indications are he’s returning to Golden State anyway.

Kyle Kuzma, 6.9 wins added – 4/$102M deal to stay in Washington

• Wing, declined $13M player option
• Jazz fit? The former Ute is coming off a career season and is a favorite target for many Jazz fans; but again, the Collins trade might have taken Kuz out of their sights.

Herb Jones, 6.3 wins added – Stayed in NOP, 4/$54M

• Wing, restricted, declined TO at the minimum
• Jazz fit? Had the Pels picked up the option on the defensive specialist, he’d have been unrestricted next season, so they declined the option so he gets a payday early and they get matching rights. In other words: he’s not really available.

Jerami Grant, 6.2 wins added – 5/$160M to stay in Portland

• Wing, unrestricted, $21M last year
• Jazz fit? Another athletic four the Jazz have been linked to, Grant has gotten better at pretty much everything and just had his first .600-plus true shooting season, but… Collins.

Cameron Johnson, 5.7 wins added – Stays in Brooklyn for 4/$108M

• Wing, restricted, $5.9M last year
• Jazz fit? Johnson got to show off more stuff after a midseason trade to Brooklyn, but since the Nets have matching rights, it’s probably moot where the Jazz are concerned.

Jakob Poeltl, 5.5 wins added – 4/$80M to stay in Toronto

• Big, unrestricted, $9.4M last year
• Jazz fit? Poeltl played collegiately in Utah, but if you believe Kessler is starter material, then the fit here is a little awkward due to the finite minutes available at the 5.

Nikola Vucevic, 5.2 wins added – Extended prior to free agency 3/$60M

• Big, unrestricted, $22M last year
• Jazz fit? Vooch is a 2-time All-Star who has averaged 23-and-12, but acquiring him means you’re moving Kessler back into a supporting role, which doesn’t feel like the plan right now.

Russell Westbrook, 4.9 wins added – 2-year deal worth $8 million to stay with LAC

• Guard, unrestricted, minimum last year (after buyout)
• Jazz fit? The former MVP had a nice little resurgence with the Clippers, but the Jazz already passed up on employing him once this calendar year.

Dillon Brooks, 4.9 wins added – 4/$80M deal with Houston

• Wing, unrestricted, $11.4M last year
• Jazz fit? He became a bit of a punchline after “poking the bear” in a first-round playoff loss, but Brooks can play; that said, Memphis evidently didn’t like the drama that came with it.

Austin Reaves, 4.8 wins added – 4/$56M (w/ PO) deal to stay in LAL

• Wing, restricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? It’s hard to imagine the Lakers declining to match almost any number, especially since the Gilbert Arenas rule will limit what he can make in year one anyway.

Dennis Schroder, 4.7 wins added – 2/$26M deal with Toronto

• Guard, unrestricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? Schro has toiled for four teams in the last five seasons, including two separate Laker stints; he also spent half a season with the Jazz’s Will Hardy in Boston.

Donte DiVincenzo, 4.4 wins added – 4/$50M deal with NYK

• Wing, opted out of $4.7M
• Jazz fit? The Big Ragu (sign him just for the cool nickname!) could probably earn minutes right away as a plus defender and spot-up threat, but it would come at the expense of younger guards.

Jordan Clarkson, 4.3 wins added – opted in

• Guard/wing, $14.3M player option
• Jazz fit? The buzz I’ve heard suggests that there’s a price range in which the Jazz would happily bring JC back, but also want to recognize where he’ll likely be in his trajectory by the time they’re title-competitive again.

Dwight Powell, 4.2 wins added – 3/$12M deal in Dallas

• Big, unrestricted, $11.1M last year
• Jazz fit? The Jazz have five or six guys to share minutes across the frontcourt spots, but if a trade opportunity opens up minutes, a rotational big in this tier is probably more likely than going after Lopez or Poeltl.

Caris LeVert, 4.0 wins added – 2/$32M agreement to stay in Cleveland

• Wing, unrestricted, $18.8M last year
• Jazz fit? LeVert has real scoring chops, but the Michigan product is firmly in the sub-All-Star class at nearly 29, so there’s some chance we’ve seen his ceiling already.

Tre Jones, 3.7 wins added – 2/$20M deal to stay in San Antonio

• Guard, restricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? BR’s Dan Favale brought him up as a Jazz target after he exploded to 13ppg, but it’s worth mentioning that he’s neither positionally big (6’1”) nor a great shooter (27% career 3pt).

Isaiah Joe, 3.6 wins added

• Wing, restricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? Joe’s shooting and defense were a huge ingredient to OKC’s unexpected success last season, but alas, he’s restricted and will be really hard to pry away from the rising Thunder.

PJ Washington, 3.5 wins added

• Wing, restricted, $5.8M last year
• Jazz fit? Jazz fans should know Washington’s name well by now after persistent trade rumors, but he’s redundant now that the Jazz have Collins, and he’s restricted anyway.

Mason Plumlee, 3.5 wins added – 1-year, $5M deal to stay with LAC

• Big, unrestricted, $9.1M last year
• Jazz fit? As we’ve said elsewhere, a center signing probably only tracks if a trade comes up involving one of the Jazz’s plentiful big men.

Josh Okogie, 3.5 wins added – Deal to remain in Phoenix

• Wing, unrestricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? Shooting woes made it hard for Phoenix to keep the defensive specialist on the court in the playoffs, and the Jazz are reportedly seeking shooters.

Dennis Smith Jr., 3.2 wins added – 1-year deal w/ Brooklyn

• Guard, unrestricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? The former lottery pick had a little late-season surge, and might find a job out there as a rotational guard.

Kelly Oubre Jr., 3.1 wins added

• Wing, unrestricted, $12.6M last year
• Jazz fit? Oubre just came off a 20-ppg season (or partial season, anyway) and is still just 27, but he’s been consistently below league average for per-shot efficiency.

Christian Wood, 3.1 wins added

• Big, unrestricted, $14.3M last year
• Jazz fit? After dealing for Collins, the Jazz probably won’t go after another 6’10” guy with a skilled offensive game and questions on the other end.

Bruce Brown, 3.1 wins added – Agreed to 2/$45M deal w/ Pacers

• Wing, declined $6.8M PO
• Jazz fit? I’ve been high on Brown since long before he became a Finals darling, but there are going to be a lot of suitors for the 26-year-old slasher.

Keita Bates-Diop, 3.1 wins added – 2/$5M deal with Phoenix

• Wing, unrestricted, $1.9M last year
• Jazz fit? Advanced stats like the season he put together in San Antonio (including 39% on threes), but overall he’s a 6.5-ppg pro.

Jevon Carter, 3.0 wins added – 3/$20M deal with Chicago

• Guard, declined $2.2M PO
• Jazz fit? He’s tough as hell, but the Jazz’s penchant for positional length might make it tough for this tiny guard to land a mentor gig in Utah.

Khris Middleton, 3.0 wins added – 3/$102M deal to stay in Milwaukee

• Wing, declined $40.4M PO
• Jazz fit? Middleton long felt like the perfect Jazz complement, but his age and health concerns point to a timeline mismatch at this stage.

Jalen McDaniels, 2.7 wins added – 2/$9.3M deal with Toronto

• Wing, restricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? He’s a 3-and-D project whose shooting numbers popped once he was in a more mature ecosystem, and he’s 6’9”… but restricted.

Jock Landale, 2.7 wins added – 4/$32M deal with Houston

• Big, unrestricted (pulled QO back), minimum last year
• Jazz fit? Landale split backup duty with Bismack Biyombo (also a 2023 FA) last year in Phoenix, but so far hasn’t been a surefire rotational piece, despite solid advanced metrics.

Coby White, 2.6 wins added – Staying in Chicago for $40M over 3

• Guard, restricted, $7.4M last year
• Jazz fit? His minutes, scoring and usage all dipped to career lows right as the former lotto pick hits restricted free agency, so it’s hard to tell how much a part of the plan he is for Chicago.

Eric Gordon, 2.5 wins added – 2-year minimum deal with Phoenix

• Guard, unrestricted, waived off $20.9M non-guaranteed
• Jazz fit? The résumé is interesting, but the 34-year-old is a shooting guard in a PG’s body, and the Jazz have a lot of that profile right now.

Hamidou Diallo, 2.4 wins added

• Wing, unrestricted, $5.2M last year
• Jazz fit? His outside shooting (25.4% for his career if you exclude a promising partial season in Detroit two years ago) is pretty problematic, even though the defensive chops are there.

Josh Richardson, 2.4 wins added – 2-year $6M (PO) deal w/ Miami

• Wing, unrestricted, $12.2M last year
• Jazz fit? Thought to be on Utah’s radar ahead of the 2022 trade deadline, Richardson landed instead in SA and later NOP, where he’s been a high-minute reserve w/ 38% 3pt shooting.

Patrick Beverley, 2.4 wins added – 1-year $3.2M deal with Philadelphia

• Guard, unrestricted, minimum last year (after buyout)
• Jazz fit? The Jazz had the option of keeping PatBev last offseason and decided instead to take a shot on a 21-year-old, so that probably answers that.

Gabe Vincent, 2.2 wins added – 3/$33M deal with the Lakers

• Guard, unrestricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? Vincent will be a hot commodity after playing a big role in Miami’s surprising playoff run; he has pretty decent positional size at PG but has only been an OK shooter until this postseason.

Naz Reid, 2.2 wins added – came off the board early with a 3/$42M extension in Minnesota

• Big, unrestricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? Reid makes just enough threes (34% career) to be kind of interesting as a bouncy smallball five, and he’s still just 23 (turning 24 before the season).

Grant Williams, 2.1 wins added – 4/$53M S&T w/ Dallas

• Wing, restricted, $4.3M last year
• Jazz fit? Batman probably gets matched by Boston, although it’s weird how much his role fluctuated all postseason. Overlaps positionally with Markkanen/Hendricks (and now Collins).

Moritz Wagner, 2.1 wins added – Stays in Orlando 2/$16M

• Big, unrestricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? A center who can play a bit in space might be an interesting balance to Kessler, should the Jazz make other moves that open up some center minutes.

Torrey Craig, 2.1 wins added – Deal for 1 year + a PO in Chicago

• Wing, unrestricted, $5.1M last year
• Jazz fit? A part-time starter for the contending Suns last year, one has to imagine Craig could find minutes on a lot of teams, and at 33 might be focused on trying to help a contender.

Willy Hernangomez, 2.1 wins added – agreed to a deal overseas

• Big, unrestricted, $2.6M TO declined
• Jazz fit? Brother to Jazz alum Juancho, Willy is a good rebounder and an efficient possession user inside the arc. He was New Orleans’ third string center last season, but could help some teams.

Kevin Love, 2.0 wins added – Staying in Miami on 2-year deal

• Big, unrestricted, $3.1M last year
• Jazz fit? This is the twilight phase for the almost-35 Love, who posted career lows across the board and then saw his role fluctuate in the postseason based on matchups.

Matysse Thybulle, 1.9 wins added – Portland to match the 3/$33M offer sheet signed by Dallas

• Wing, restricted, $4.4M last year
• Jazz fit? Thybulle was mostly salary filler when the Blazers shipped Josh Hart for a first, but the Blazers will still keep their options open by issuing the $6.3M QO.

Talen Horton-Tucker, 1.8 wins added – opted in

• Wing, $11.0M player option
• Jazz fit? THT likely opts into a guaranteed $11 million; he had some nice moments as a bowling ball-style driver, but in the modern game his lack of shooting at guard will be an issue.

Terence Davis, 1.6 wins added

• Guard, unrestricted, $4M last year
• Jazz fit? Davis is a somewhat nondescript guard who got demoted back down the depth chart with Kevin Huerter’s arrival in Sactown.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker, 1.5 wins added – 2-year deal to stay in Minnesota

• Wing, unrestricted (no QO), $5M last year
• Jazz fit? Utah moved on from NAW in February, but not before he finally put together a great shooting season (half-season anyway); he also really helped Minny in the playoffs

Andre Drummond, 1.4 wins added – opted in

• Big, $3.4M PO
• Jazz fit? The Jazz could attempt to put more experience behind Kessler in the rotation, but it probably won’t be in the form of this seasoned vet who’s been with four teams in six seasons.

Shake Milton, 1.4 wins added – 2/$10M deal with Minnesota

• Wing, unrestricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? Milton kind of surpassed Thybulle at points throughout their shared Sixers tenure, and has great length at the two (7-foot wingspan), but wouldn’t be more than a budget flier.

Mo Bamba, 1.4 wins added – 1-year deal with Philadelphia

• Big, unrestricted, waived from non-gtd. $10.3M
• Jazz fit? Utah’s frontcourt is already looking a little crowded, even though Bamba is interesting as a young (25) 7-footer with some stretch ability and decent rim protection skills.

Reggie Jackson, 1.3 wins added – 2/$10.25M to return to Denver

• Guard, unrestricted, minimum last year (after buyout)
• Jazz fit? Jackson just turned 33 and Utah’s probably not looking for a high-usage, small point guard in that age range.

Anthony Lamb, 1.3 wins added

• Wing, unrestricted (no QO), minimum last year
• Jazz fit? Lamb played well enough to have his contract converted so that the Dubs could use him in the playoffs – but then they barely did (5 points in 31 total minutes).

Derrick Jones Jr., 1.2 wins added

• Wing, unrestricted, $3.2M last year
• Jazz fit? Some Jazz fans have been interested in DJJ for years; I’ve never quite been there given his career 30% outside shooting; he was on the edge of Chicago’s rotation last season.

Trey Lyles, 1.2 wins added – Returning to the Kings 2/$16M plus bonuses

• Wing, unrestricted, $2.6M last year
• Jazz fit? Lyles has mostly been a 7th/8th man type since leaving Utah as part of the Donovan Mitchell trade in 2017, and his production – both raw and advanced – has been fairly up and down.

Paul Reed, 1.1 wins added – Philadelphia matched Utah’s 3/$23M offer sheet

• Big, restricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? He’s a fan favorite in Philly who has inspired many a “why isn’t BBall Paul playing?” tweet, but he’s also a smallish (6’9”) center who doesn’t shoot and has just OK paint defense numbers.

Justise Winslow, 1.1 wins added

• Wing, unrestricted, $4.1M last year
• Jazz fit? Hard to believe Winslow is still just 27. He’s averaged just 28.5 games per season over the past four years, and his shooting has been an issue throughout his career.

Blake Griffin, 1.0 wins added

• Big, unrestricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? The 5-time All-NBA forward is now 34 and straddles the edge of Boston’s rotation – probably not a Jazz fit.

Eugene Omoruyi, 1.0 wins added – signed 2-way deal with Washington

• Big, unrestricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? The Nigerian-Canadian has a 6’7″ body with a 7’1″ winspan, which was tantalizing enough for two lottery teams to give him minutes last season, but Detroit waived him to accommodate all their roster gymnastics.

Thomas Bryant, 1.0 wins added – 2/$5.4M deal (PO) with Miami

• Big, unrestricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? A 12-ppg roll finisher for the Wiz at his peak, Bryant has started to knock down threes too (albeit on few attempts) after missing most of two seasons with an injury.

Montrezl Harrell, 1.0 wins added – Returning to Philadelphia

• Big, unrestricted, $2.5M last year
• Jazz fit? He’s small at center and doesn’t shoot well enough to regularly play forward, but he keeps finding work because of his rim finishing and energy.

Drew Eubanks, 1.0 wins added – 2-year deal w/ Phx

• Big, unrestricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? Eubanks returned home to Oregon in the middle of last season, and put up 14.5 points his first 22 games with the Blazers (all starts) before a lackluster follow-up campaign.

Svi Mykhailiuk, 0.9 wins added

• Wing, unrestricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? The Ukranian wing has been a fringe rotation guy for six teams in five years since being a first-round pick.

Taurean Prince, 0.9 wins added – Finalizing a 1/$4.5M deal with LAL

• Wing, unrestricted, waived from $7.7M NG
• Jazz fit? The one-time Jazz draft pick (they traded the pick for George Hill) is unexpectedly available after being cut ahead of his guarantee date; 10K career minutes, 37% outside shooter.

Javonte Green, 0.8 wins added

• Wing, unrestricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? He’s a bit small for a wing, but Green has had some nice moments as a rotational 3-and-D guy for Chicago – even though his minutes dipped in a big way this past season.

Ayo Dosunmu, 0.8 wins added – 3/$21M deal to stay in Chicago

• Guard, restricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? He’s been a pretty fun second-round find for Chicago even though his shooting and defense have both been inconsistent; the Bulls likely plan to match reasonable offers.

Joe Ingles, 0.8 wins added – Agreeing with Orlando at 2/$22M

• Wing, unrestricted, $6.5M last year
• Jazz fit? As fun as it would be to bring Jingles back, he’ll be 36 before the season starts, and it would likely be way more satisfying to him to find a contender to help.

Georges Niang, 0.8 wins added – 3/$26M w/ Cleveland

• Wing, unrestricted, $3.5M last year
• Jazz fit? Niang’s role production has jumped by enough since he left Utah that he probably doesn’t want to come back and compete with, minimally, an All-Star and a lotto pick for minutes.

Jae Crowder, 0.7 wins added – Stays in Milwaukee on a 1-year deal

• Wing, unrestricted, $10.2M last year
• Jazz fit? We’re apparently in the Jazz-wings-of-yesteryear section of the list; but a reunion with Crowder (33 now) is a lot less likely as the Jazz keep adding to their frontcourt.

Dario Saric, 0.7 wins added – 1-year deal w/ Golden State

• Big, unrestricted, $9.2M last year
• Jazz fit? It wouldn’t be crazy if the Jazz wanted a more stretchy veteran option behind Kessler, but Saric was a low-minute reserve this season after missing all of 2021-22 with an ACL tear.

Bismack Biyombo, 0.7 wins added

• Big, unrestricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? Given the apparent obsession with position size, would 6-foot-8 Biyombo even play over 6-foot-11 Jones? Let alone the now-guaranteed Olynyk.

Chimezie Metu, 0.7 wins added – 1-year deal w/ Phoenix

• Big, unrestricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? Another smallish combo big, Metu’s role has basically been limited to a 10-mpg backup since Domantas Sabonis arrived in the land of cowbells.

Aaron Holiday, 0.6 wins added – 1-year deal w/ Houston

• Guard, unrestricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? Jrue’s and Justin’s brother has improved his shooting, but his minutes and raw output have largely gone the wrong direction since his second season – he’s also pretty small.

Oshae Brissett, 0.6 wins added – 2-year deal with Boston

• Wing, unrestricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? If Brissett could solidify his 3-point shooting (34% career, 31% last season) he has the size to be interesting in a league hungry for big wings.

Cam Reddish, 0.6 wins added – 2-year min deal w/ PO in LAL

• Big, unrestricted, min TO declined
• Jazz fit? Ditto on the above for Reddish, a former top-10 pick who has great size at 6’8” with a +5 wingspan, but whose shooting woes have limited his roles on three teams.

Yuta Watanabe, 0.5 wins added – Signing with Phoenix

• Wing, unrestricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? Long and skinny, the 6-foot-9 wing has had some awesome shooting seasons but has never averaged more than 16.0 minutes or 5.6 points.

Cory Joseph, 0.5 wins added – 1-year deal with GSW

• Guard, unrestricted, $5.2M last year
• Jazz fit? Sounds like the Jazz might be hoping to convert Keyonte George into a PG, and that could mean they need a vet placeholder.

George Hill, 0.5 wins added

• Guard, unrestricted, $4M last year
• Jazz fit? Hill is 37 now and his first Jazz stint didn’t end amazingly well, so this is probably not the guy they’ll look to for interim PG reps.

Rui Hachimura, 0.5 wins added – 3/$51M deal to remain in LA

• Wing, restricted, $6.3M last year
• Jazz fit? With finite ways of adding talent, the Lakers probably have to match Hachimura deals to keep options open, but Utah suddenly has a bunch of minute-worthy forwards anyway.

Wenyen Gabriel, 0.5 wins added

• Big, unrestricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? Five seasons in, Gabriel finally got his first real run as a rotation regular, and it went… OK (5.5 ppg and 4.2 rpg in 15 minutes).

Edmond Sumner, 0.5 wins added

• Guard, unrestricted, waived on non-guar. minimum
• Jazz fit? He missed a season with an Achilles tear, but his last two healthy seasons he averaged 18-4-3 per 36 minutes, with 49-38-87 shooting splits. 

Raul Neto, 0.4 wins added

• Guard, unrestricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? Another fan favorite, “Wolfie” might not be what Ainge envisions when he says “positional size,” even though Utah might find itself needing some short-term PG depth.

TJ Warren, 0.4 wins added

• Wing, unrestricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? After missing basically two full years with an ACL tear, Warren didn’t look quite himself in 42 games for the Nets and Suns.

Damion Lee, 0.4 wins added – 1-year deal (plus PO) to stay in Phoenix

• Wing, unrestricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? Lee can shoot the basketball, although his production has cratered both years he’s seen playoff action, which is somewhat concerning.

Rodney McGruder, 0.3 wins added

• Wing, unrestricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? After an inauspicious shooting start, McGruder has canned 41% of his triples over the past three seasons combined, but you wish he was bigger (6’4”) and/or younger (almost 32).

Troy Brown Jr., 0.3 wins added – Going to Minnesota

• Wing, unrestricted, minimum last year
• Jazz fit? The Lakers gave Brown a real shot at rotation minutes (24.5 mpg) and he rewarded them with career-best 38% outside shooting. His defensive limitations translated to a smaller playoff role.

JaMychal Green, 0.2 wins added
